| Baby has come! Reuben was born on April 3rd at 6:10pm. He was a substantial 9 pounds, 8 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long. We have pictures in an album called ReubensBirth at

We had a challenging labor. Beehead was induced because our doctor was uncomfortable with her platelet levels.
We went to the hospital early Sunday morning. Her water broke Sunday night. Labor started seriously Monday around 10am. She got the world's best epidural. (Ask about Bernie...) The nursing staff in the hospital was just incredible. Every nurse during our labor was extremely supportive and helpful. I am now a huge fan of the nursing profession.
In a scene highly reminiscent of the birth in Star Wars, we delivered after 8 hours of hard labor with the aid of forceps, an episiotomy, and a class 4 (worst possible) tear. We spent the next day at the hospital, enduring innumerable heel-sticks to get blood for tests on baby (they repeatly took off his old bandaids because they had run out of places to stick him).
We're home now and totally exhausted (you'll probably get the answering machine for the next couple of days). We're hoping to get stabilized by next week. Once we get things under control, we'd love to talk about the experience!
Thank you for all your support, prayers, and congratulations. For any single men out there, let me give you some advice. Find the woman of your dreams, marry her, and have a baby. The high is incredible!

| The early twenty-first century theologian Jay Boddy was profoundly influenced by his early childhood experiences at a resort in central Florida. His Floridian school of theology developed from the basic premise:
God is not Mickey Mouse.

| I am currently reading a book.
Kathy and Carleen want me to go eat popcorn chikin with them, but I'm real into my book.
Now I'm saying "You bad one" because this isn't really me typing...
see... those bad ones, those girls I hang out with a lot, and like the
ones who want the chikin, they're actually writing this cuz they're hot
mamas and now they're reaking of havoc.
(We're leaving our real names so we can be famous and get more hits on the interanet).

| How are all the Xangazons? We went canoeing this Saturday. The livery
guy said that normally the run has a couple of 4 foot waves, but the
water level is way down right now. Most of the river was navigable, but
the rapids sections had more rocks than water. We spent a lot of time
poling the canoe over the rocks. Some of the rocks were brightly
colored from the paint/plastic scraped off the bottoms of passing
canoes.
At a couple of points, I found the trip reminiscent of
downhill skiing. Maybe it was skittering over the rocks, but I noticed
that you can see the downhill slope of a river. In one place, the river
bed went straight, but most of the water swooshed off to one side down
the hill.
You can check out a couple of pictures of us canoeing and visiting the beaches on my photo site.
Actually,
I noticed that I haven't posted in so long that I haven't mentioned
that we think we've found a house. It's just gorgeous...big sunny
rooms, granite counters in the kitchen, a wisteria arbor, a Japanese
maple and lovely perennials. House pix also available.
